Default Any Honda Techs, please help!

I want to change my transmission and differential fluids. I called my dealer to see if they would change oils that I supplied (Neo Synthetic for tranny, Redline 75W-90 for differential), and he said he would but obviously recommended Honda. I told him I wanted to be on the safe side with the differential being sensitive and all by using a little higher quality fluids. I called American Honda and got some guy who was just going to read me the owners manual on which fluids to use: Honda: Ta-dah! No brainer there. Anyways, I don't want to undermind the techs at my dealership and look like a youngin' that doesn't know what he's talking about (I'm 25 by the way). Can I get an OK from a tech here so I have piece-of-mind to feel ok about telling the dealership it's ok to use these fluids? I'd apreciate it very much.

Thanx alot,
Chris

P.S.-I don't have the tools, or experience to do it myself.

Chris,

You should try posting this question on the "Under The Hood" forum. That's where the "TECH's" congregate.

This topic has been discussed in great detail in that forum as well, so you might want to try a SEARCH and see what type of fluid is recommended.

I've been using Honda MTL for the transmission and either a Royal Purple or Redline fluid for the differential. But, I recently changed to Pennzoil Synchromesh for the tranny and can't tell if it's any better than the OEM.

Good luck.

I know which fluids I want to use through the search. I just want a tech's reccomendation.

Thanx. I'll do that.

honda MTF is fine for our trannies.

don't use the honda differential fluid, it is made for CRV's etc...

Use Mobil 1 75W90 or whatever you have, don't use honda DIFF fluid!!!

also make sure the fluid is GL5 or GL6.

I plan on using Neo Synthetic for the tranny, and Red Line for the differential.
