I also regretted getting a test pipe (I forgot about that in my earlier post).

I thought it made power (felt like it) but after dyno'ing the car and seeing I was losing HP/TQ I put the cat back on. Now I dont have to worry about cops and my car feels a little better.

I do miss the sound with it on though

NOTE: I did not have any tuning device when I had a test pipe and am sure I would have netted gains with VAFC/EMS/E-Manage.

you actually lost some hp?? I was thinking about putting one possibly on my stock exhaust
Ya, I installed the test pipe and thought it was making power (car felt quicker) ran it for about 8mths and went to a friends shop. Dyno'd the car with the TP (three passes) then removed the TP and put the cat on the 1st pass with the cat netted a gain of 2hp and 3 ft. lbs. of tq at 8200 rpm. 2nd pass netted 3hp gain and 3 ft. lbs. of tq everyone at the shop was like (with the test pipe the car would cut at 8500 rpm , but without it at 8200)

the biggest dissapointment was in the midrange my TQ dropped by 15-20ft lbs. with the TP on the car. Next time we meet up I can bring the dyno sheets if you want to check it out .

I am not a fan of test pipes without tuning . There may be others out there that are running test pipes and risking getting busted for it while losing hp and tq . Not worth it IMHO.... I did like the sound of the car with it though and the smell did not really bother me, but my girl hated it

The other mods on the car at the time were ASM 70mm single exhaust, Mugen 2.2l header, K&N FIPK kit and a Berk TP

I feel fairly confident saying that the car is perfect enough from the factory, that modifying things simply makes things "different, but not necessarily better as a whole". Yes, you can put stiffer springs on - but then you are highly compromising grip on bumpy roads. Yes, you can put an aftermarket exhaust on and maybe squeeze one or two extra horsepower out of it, but then you have to deal with the non-stop loud, annoying drone that comes with it..

and so on, so forth. Mine's bone stock with the exception of the stereo. I plan to keep it mostly that way - I want seat heaters installed, and I'll likely install new OEM shocks fairly soon, maybe some nice lightweight aftermarket wheels. Otherwise, it was built correctly, from the factory

seat heaters were one of the BEST mods ever. dont understand why honda doesn't spend a few extra bucks on em.

You are totally correct, except modding the car can be irresistibly fun

Have you ever driven an FI S2k?

100hp+ makes it "better" IMHO.
