Default any s2k's with no problems at all??

i have been looking at all the post of reliability issues and problems (burn oil, tranny problems, various creeks and squeeks, etc.) im vondering if this seems alot bigger then it is or if most s2k's have little quirks and problems. is the oil burning issue due to "off the dealership vtecs, or something else??) thanks

I think you will find that most people have no problems at all. The reason you see a lot of "issues" here is because that is the purpose of the forum...for people to seek help from others. In other words, you're not going to see 40 different posts from people saying "no problems with my car...just wanted to let everyone know". As far as the oil...the problem disappears after 10,000 miles or so. It is a performance engine and needs to be broken in properly. Hope this helps.

I think he meant before the break in. Like test drives and stuff at the dealership.

I'll say it again: This question is asked so many times that it ought to be part of the FAQ section. Here are a couple of previous threads:

Any 00-01 S2K owners that has had no problems?

Why so many problems????

why so many damn problems on a new car?

And the best thread of all concerning the boring S2000's that have absolutely no problems:

Did your car start today?

I hope that helps a little.

Take a look at Consumer Reports auto issue 2002 edition shows the S2000 as the most reliable in it's class! No problems with mine. I think people more than own S2000's so they are usually more anal than some owner groups (me included).

My only problem is that the driver's window does not go down automatically. It started a few months ago after I washed my car. The dealer should have an updated part, so it is not a big deal.
