It's not so much a "not being allowed to," but rather that the dealers either don't have an S2K in stock or aren't willing to rack up miles on a new one because that way they can't charge $4K over sticker for it as brand-spanking new.

That's the main issue - when they're still selling every one that comes in within days, why have a demo?

Very short-sighted of them, and also why I bought my TT from a dealer 25 miles away instead of the local dealer I service it at - they refused to get a demo because they were selling all TTs they got in and had a waiting list; the dealer I went to had a waiting list too but at least they had a demo I could drive...

Olde Raleigh Motors in Raleigh, NC let me test mine before I purchased, and I am only 15!!! They were great to do business with!

I agree with you. I also wont buy my car from any dealer that treated me like crap because i'm young. Makes me really mad.

My friend went in to buy an Audi S4 and he had just turned 18, the dealer laughed in his face and said "you can not afford this car" and laughed some more. Well, about 1 week later he rolled up to that dealer again in a brand new black on black s4 and just waved and smiled. Should have seen the look on their face..

I test drove 2 before I bought mine. I scared the bajeezus out of the sales lady that went with me. She was yelling at me about her safety or something... I'm not really sure exactly as I was busy clipping apexes.

The Honda dealer here in Ithaca, NY would not allow me to test drive an S2000, which did not please me. Rather than making an issue of it I headed to the Honda dealer in Sayre, PA who was more than willing to let me test drive the car. I can understand the Ithaca dealer's reluctance to put mileage on the car, but it created ill will between a future customer (me) and his business.

I do not care if its a bugatti EB 110 super sport, always test drive the car before buying, no matter what the reputation. Mike
