I've never driven them but when reading Lamborghini and Ferrari pornography I have read that those cars also feel like they are going to vibrate apart at every single bolt location.

I may have come across wrong. I wasn't being defensive or sensitive to the fact that you have likely owned/own much more expensive cars than the S2000. More power to you.
The S2000 as at the top performance bracket in the affordable performance car class...I mean you can buy a nice 5 year old S2000 for the same price as a new Hyundai. In that price range...S2000 is amazing.
I'm sure if I were to drive a new M3 or a Z06 the S2000 would seem much more mediocre to me.

as was mentioned by many already, i was most disappointed in the straight line speed of the car. but i knew it going into purchasing the car. it's not a handy/comfortable type of car, but i still daily drive it. the most joy i receive from the car are the twisties, and the way it handles and feels while taking turns really makes me believe that the amount of power that the car has is more than enough to keep it well poised and balanced while negotiating turns. the power issue is relative.
hmm usually the first test drives sells many people including me. this was the fastest car i drove when i first test drove it, and even when i shifted at 7k it felt amazing. (too scared to go to 8k lol) but again i could see where you are coming from since you were used to faster cars with more tq, but you gotta understand the s is a completely different car.
i drove a modded wrx once when i traded it with my friend. certainly it packed a punch but i couldn't stand the rubbery transmission and how it felt like i was driving a suv.
another selling point for me is how awesome the car looked. mine is stock minus a drop and i still love how it looks compared to 90% of the cars on the street. anyway, i hope you decide to buy the s2000! if you're a car guy, then i'm 99.9% sure you won't be disappointed.

Smash that yatch up to 9k (or 8k if ap2) through a couple gears and that will tell you all you need to know, nuff said. Also, if you only have driven an ap2, give the ap1 a shot it's a bit of a different feel.
