AP1 or AP2?

my dad bought me an eclipse and a miata in highschool. just coz someone gets a good car off the start doesnt mean they'll **** it up
I'm not even saying he's definitely going to crash his car, but his defensive comments as soon as I mentioned spoiled, his lack of very basic knowledge on s2000s, and his various posts asking about body kits gives me reason to make assumptions.
miata=rwd, s2000=rwd... theres some similarity. and because of my eclipse's negative value my dad spent pretty much the same amount of money someone would spend on an s2000. that aside i wanna bring up my point that just because someone is in high school, doesnt mean they're gonna wrap the car around the tree, crash it, etc. etc.

Haha. Wow, dude you are one funny guy. You say you don't want to start anything and then BAM you get me really pissed. You say I don't have basic knowledge of an S2000? You don't even know me dude. And your are making assumptions like that?
I actually know a lot about the S2000 and was just wondering if I ahd overlooked anything between the two different chassis models. Apparently they can fit two different but somewhat similar driving styles. And if you did not fu**ing read, I said my Dad would buy me a new or used S. And plus I might not even get one. And why would I be on this forum if I wanted to dreive it for status? And you say I might crash it? Damn dude you really need to trhink before you pound away on that keyboard. My point is that you do not know sh** about my knowledge, how I was raised, and my driving ability. I really did not want to get into something like this but whatever. So hellspare I hope hell spares you for being such a retard once your life ends.

For someone who doesn't even have his license yet you sure talk big.
All I did was try to aid you and make sure you make the right choice, and I don't THINK I ever did it with a offensive tone.
It's funny how you are getting so worked up over this, looks like the first thing you need to do is grow up and not cuss in every sentence.
But once again, if you do end up getting a s2000, enjoy it and be safe.

Miatas are nowhere near fast, and eclipses are fwd or awd, take your pick, but both equally safe. (Assuming you bought the 95-99 ones, cause the newer ones are crap)

Here is the deal. My Dad told me that if I manage to keep a 3.8 GPA until I get my liscense.(January of my Junior year.) He will purchase me a new S or the one of my choice. But once I get the car(if I do), I must maintain a 3.8 from the time I get the car until I graduate. I hope you guys udnerstand what I am trying to say. And please do not call me spoiled or anything. Trust me, I ahve lived a well disciplined life. So basically the expense of the car is covered. So it doesn't matter that the AP2 is more expensive or anything since my Dad is going to pay for it. I'm not sure how much I can put into this car being that it will be my first. I ahve never experienced modifying so I'm not sure if working 3 days a week can really supply myself with the parts I want. Like I said, I want my S to be a daily driver with some track use I just was wodering what chassis will fit my needs. I hope I'm making some sense...

Get youself a brand new S2000!! I'm one of the guys who really loves the early cars, but knowing the cars as well as I do, if I were in your shoes, that's what I'd do. A new car comes with a new car warranty. A new car will have stability control, and handling that is less likely to bite you while you're learning (or after you become familiar with the car and get overconfident). The new car will have a greater resale value in a few years when you want something else, and there's really no good reason for you to even consider getting a used car. If you want something a little more special than a run of the mill S2000, get a CR.
I love my AP1, and would not trade it for an AP2, but the things I like are not the same things most people like; Plastic rear windows and carpeted transmission tunnels float my boat, but most people prefer a little more bling. I'm just the opposite, so if you weant a car you'll like, do the opposite of what I did. I got the oldest "like new" car I could find, and you should get the newest new car you can find. CR's corner harder, but you give up the ragtop, so like everything else, it's a tradeoff, but either get a new MY08 base or CR, and you won't be sorry.

Hahaha, just ignore all the BS if you can, and we'll focus on the topic at hand.
