AP2 owners

I did the exact same thing...Although I think a lighter flywheel would make more of an effect No point in pulling the whole transmission out now just cuz of a minor difference in feel.
Took mine out a few weeks after having the car. I had an AP1 prior. Now with my 6 puck clutch, upgraded pressure plate, AP1 flywheel, and Comptech supercharger, I'm very glad I do not have a CDV. Shifting is much more precise.

(1) its much lengthier than 1ms
(2) its not the time, its the FEEL
(2a) i bought the s2k for the way it drives, not its speed
had mine removed first opportunity i could. say what you will. for me, it was NIGHT and DAY

I yanked mine within about a month of owning the car. Considering it's basically a free "fix," why not. Having driven many manuals (and hondas), I found the engagement of the clutch just felt kind of "mushy" per say, and lacked that precise engagement/feel I'm used to. I couldn't stand the damn thing, but now it drives like any old honda. Much improved. If you don't notice it, great, but for anyone that does, it's great once it's gone.
As others said, removing the CDV isn't meant to fix how hard the clutch grabs, just the feel. Yes, it'll still slip (PP is too soft), but that's fine and expected. After driving many hondas, I was quite amazed when I first drove my s2k. The clutch pedal is seriously feather light, which clue'd me in on a baby soft PP.
Oh ya, a CDV isn't going to prevent you from blowing your diff. It's not some magical safety/fix. If you drive like a jackass with a CDV, expect it to die on you eventually.
I have mine in. Doesnt really bother me, but I WILL be switching to an ap1 flywheel and new pp before too long.
I drove an ap2 without the cdv and with an ap1 flywheel and the difference is definitely noticeable..in a very good way.

I have mine still in, and it is probably the most annoying thing for me on the car as of right now! It seems that whenever I am actually serious bout a race or goin thru the gears the CDV kicks in! 2-3 gears shifts is where I notice it kicking in the most(others gear shifts not as much) now it just might be I'm tryin to shift into gear to fast or something. I'll shift into 3 from 2 gear and hit the gas as soon as I'm in gear and the car just lags and does not want to drop the rpms down to where they should be after shifting from redline...I do plan on removing the CDV but have not gotten around to doin it just yet!
I removed my CDV a few years ago. I wasn't neccessarily annoyed by slipping on high RPM shifts (although it did), but with how inconsistent the clutch felt while just trying to let it out on a normal start in 1st gear. I think removing the CDV helped quite a bit with this issue.
What I'm wondering is whether the CDV also delays disengagement of the clutch .Otherwise if not,it must act like a check valve that uses a bleed-by for engagement. Can anyone shine some light on this? If disengagement is also slightly delayed it could possibly explain the occasional notchy shift that seems to be present in many units.Particularly from 2nd to 3rd if one doesn't hesitate slightly when placing into gear at lower rpms.Perhaps a few of the guys that removed their CDV can touch on this.

Don't have an issue with the CDV.
Why do you need to dump the clutch and perform hard shifts everywhere you drive?
