I have it on my cr...it sucks!

people think I can't drive and ride the clutch lol. it does it hard on the 2-3 shift also.

It's pretty lame they had to put that in. the s2k is a sports car and should be able to take some agressive shifts. I understand no clutch dumps but come on...seriously?

I am really starting to like american cars for this reason lol

so if i understand correctly

the 'slipping' isnt because of the CDV. its because of the overweight flywheel and sub par PP

so then, what the hell does the CDV do?

Well ,if it is in fact a "clutch delay valve" then it apparently and by design restricts clutch fluid flow and prevents sudden de-accuation of the slave cylinder. I don't care for it myself either. What I'm wondering,as I haven't removed or examined this component in hand ,is whether it restricts flow in "both" directions. I'm still waiting for someone in the know to answer this question.

No need to remove cdv, just enhance clutch. I drove my car about 1500 miles before I yanked the transmission and install a cc stage 4 and 11lb flywheel. Not the best for stop and go but unbeatable when vtec time comes. The stock clutch was terrible, way weak and was a joke at the drag strip. Don't waste your time screwing with the valve, get a real clutch.

Still have mine and no plans to remove it. Then again, I don't shift like I'm on Best Motoring. That's horrible for your whole drivetrain.

How many of you have kept your CDV? Isn't it the most annoying thing since Paris Hilton?
Still have it. I didn't even know what a cdv was, or that I had one until I read this post. I think my car shifts just fine.

Nothing is more annoying than Paris Hilton.

Posts like this... why the myth persists... Chances are, you aren't driving the car correctly - the CDV isn't that bad, and I've seen plenty of people that think they can drive stick well and really can't.

i pulled mine out my first year back in 06, Ive had about 150 launches on the dragstrip, a season of autox and 82000 miles total, replacing mine with an oem pp and fd this week. It just finally started to let go in the last 200 miles. Just dont powershift like moron and i dont see how you can really screw it up.

Looks like the CDV is a band aid.

Honda should have address the root cause, the weak diff.
