I must have got an Optima from a "good batch". I have heard bad things, but mine still works like new.

how are the optimas?
overrated

there's alot of refurbished optima in the battery center near my house, they all here because of quality issue.

any brand is fine if it's for a stock s2k, just make sure the group size and CCA is rated for your weather needs.

I am been using interstate refurb. battery in my other honda for 5 years now, 24 dollar included tax

the warranty is kind of hit and miss, we tried it and they just dick us around, it's was in autozone and the best they can do is take a hair off toward the next battery purchase

I picked up an Energizer for like $55 from Pep-Boys. I looked at the high-end ones, but they weren't rated much higher. Anything lighter is going to struggle if you have a stereo. My amp is 1000w and I listen to the radio with the car off all the time- no trouble for the past year.

Basically, a battery is a battery unless you're looking at weight. They cost the same as 1-2 oil changes... even if they only last 1-2 years, who cares?
