I doubt they'll get you another S2k, unless their insurance writes off the car, then you will get market value.

Dealerships don't bend over, they are too use to the customer doing that.

Owner of the dealership will not cough up 20k from his own pocket to pay for it. (Unless you get GM Headoffice involved and make this a political highlight in the local news)

I would play the part like this and say:

I TRUSTED your reputable dealership to perform it's services in a professional manner. Your tech which represents your company's best interest, took the car and drove it recklessly which is the obvious cause of the crash. Furthermore to add insult to injury, he decided to be reckless when the weather would have suggested to any common sensed indivdual to exhibit control and obey the speed limits.

This vehicle, if fixed will never be the same. Therefore you are MORE then welcome to repair and sell the vehicle on your lot and pay me fair market value for a similar condition vehicle.

Lastly, it is my recommendation that your tech be reprimanded for his irresponsible actions.

Good Luck

sucks, stand your ground you want ANOTHER NON WRECKED S2000. I think it's only fair that they replace your car with something simular to what you had originally.

That is incredible. You deserve an equivalent car regardless. That to me means new or used. To have both air bags deploy plus put the tech at risk is inexcusable - The tech might have claimed had he been hurt that or it was something else. Hang in there. The dealership should be VERY understanding. Legally, they're not in good shape. Do whatever it takes to get satisfaction.

They should eat the cost of this in full.
They're insured also.

He said that they will have the adjusters assess it and if it is totalled they would give me the retail value of the car.
Fair enough.

jeez, i hope all this works out for you....let's hope the car is totaled and they give you "fair market value"......remember whatever the ins co offers you is negotiable.

Subscribing to this issue as well. Please keep us updated as to what happens.

Just like everyone else has said make sure you record and document everything and definately do not accept a repaired S2000 be it yours or another. It will all work out in the end.

Good luck.

I have to assume you've got no Insurance of your own. Otherwise, there's not one good reason to not let your Insurance company handle it.
