Best Convertible. . . Road & Track. . .
The article meantions that there are 27 different cars in the 25K to 50K price range, but they only considered two.
The problem with this whole thing is the ranges they chose. They pretty much exclude the S2000. By looking at cars just under the S2K range, and then including it with cars that cost 14-18K more, that makes the comparison tough. I am sure that all of you guys can get conv vettes for the 46K price they showed. Not in my neck of the woods last I checked.
I think if they wanted to include any but the most $$$ cars they would have added a bracket of 25-40K that the S2k would have easily taken. Then they could leave off the Spider since for all but a very few its just a wetdream car anyway. They are cool though, I saw one on Grand Cayman Is. (what a waste).

Let's not forget that R&T was so hard pressed to find a reason to name the Boxster S the winner of their last comparison test (with S2K, TT, and MZ3) that they gave it the win on trunk space! Never mind that the S2K matched or trumped it in performance and killed it on price.
This is the same magazine that also compared a CL-S and a manual tranny 330Ci justifying the comparison by saying "Acura is prefectly capable of fitting a manual, but chose not to". Never mind that the person who wants a manual won't look at a CL-S and those who want an automatic won't know how the 330 performs with one. To add insult to injury, 3 months later R&T does a sport sedan test where they compare an auto IS300, auto Volvo, auto Benz and, guess what, an auto 330i. Where's the consistency?
that's why I no longer buy R&T. I'll stick with Car and Driver thank you.
