Just talked to him and he says, the fronts are original. But he says, the brand is perellis
Then they aren't original.

Check a carfax report. If carfax guarantees it, and later on you find out there was a rollback, they will buy the car back from you.

Just find a friend with a dealer link

[QUOTE=yungjoc,Apr 12 2007, 10:01 AM]Looking to purchase a my00 s2000, but it has ony 25k miles. Seems really low for an 00. buying it from the 2nd owner. The guy said the first owner was a cop and only put 10k miles in 3 years. Hes put on about 5k per year since then. Carfax shows that the car was sold at 10k miles, but he doesnt

I would look at all the body panels: chassis left/right, doors, trunk, bumpers, fenders and hood for the factory VIN sticker

It is extremely hard to clock cars these days. The fact it has low miles is not a reason to be scared. It is a weekend car to a lot of people. My dad's 00 has 15k on it. Don't be so suspicious, look it over and buy it. Good luck!

I bought my 02 with 14k miles, front tires s-02 almost worned out inside of the tires.

it's not entirely impossible to have low miles on those.

I've checked mine with carfax and had history of maintainence for each year when it was serviced, even for an oil change.

I would think you'd have to replace the ECU to roll back the mileage, but I could be wrong.
There was a thread a while back about a mis-wired yellow box causing the odometer to gain thousands of miles while only traveling about ten. I remember that the guy did get it corrected. Xviper confirmed that it had been reset and went on to say we probably shouldn't be asking how it was done.
