Default A bit worried...

I've got 13k miles on my car...on the way home today from work, the Maint. Req. light flashed about 10 times, then didn't come back on the rest of the 20 miles back home. Any suggestions guys? Is there a separate CEL light, or is that it? Does it flash when say........oil needs to be changed? Or anything? Put me at ease....please!

Johnny

Don't worry this is a reminder feature built into car. Eventually, the light will stay on but it is easy to turn off.

It means you need to change your oil.

You can look up how to reset it in S2ki.com's library.

Literally, that you've been XXXX miles since the last time the light was reset. This may or may not correspond with a need to perform service. Sometimes the mechanic forgets to reset it when the car is serviced. Keep your own records, and service the car when the time/mileage interval requires it, not when the dummy light turns on.

Dont worry, Thats just a pre set reminder. As long as its not check engine. Last time we seen those....shortly after, the engine blew.
