Default Bob Smith's super glue for windscreen

How important is it to use Bob Smith's super glue and accelerator to install Rick's windscreen? I'm having trouble finding it at local hobby stores. Are the other superglues okay?

Any gap filling super glue & accelerator will work. Get the good quality stuff hobby stores sell if possible. I just installed last week with what was available locally & everything went fine. The aeroscreen works great in both form & function!!

I took me some time to find it as well. It is used by model car builders. So any store that handles higher end RC cars will have it or somtihng like it.

On another note, I don't think it matters. Any super glue to assy the "Clam Shell" should be fine. For the vibration bumbers, Rick posted an updated thread on these, and Bob Smith glue is not used for that, and any thick super glue and accelerator will be fine.

New Vibration stopping post.

I have done this installation, and it does work better. But as you will see from the thread, some folks are happy with the bumber installation.

Is the "gap filling" glue the thicker "gel" type?

No,not the gel type. Another thing I might mention is that when you mount the bumpers on the roll hoop put a couple of drops of super glue on the bumper & quickly place it on the roll hoop & apply firm pressure on the bumper & THEN spray the accelerator. If you put accelerator on the hoop first the super glue will tend to follow or bleed out from under the bumper & you will have a mess! I know first hand.

Are you cleaning the surface where you plan to stick the domes with alcohol? This is important. After I did this and let it dry, I simply used the everyday garden variety of SuperGlue you buy in the supermarket check out. These domes have never let loose and I have no idea what this "accelerator" is that everyone's talking about (so I guess it's not that important).
