It sits in the garage where it belongs.

I only put the boot on when I'm at the track because of all of the dust. And I agree that it looks better with the boot on. But since I don't park any where with the top down its a pain to put it on and take it off.

Seems like there is a trend forming on this thread. Those who use their S as their daily driver keep it off...which makes sense. It would be a pain to keep taking it on and off. Those who use the S as a "3rd car" seem to keep it on.

Not for me. Mine is a daily driver and it's this way:

Hardtop on About 35% of the year.
Softop up--About 2% of the year.
Softtop down About 63% of the year.

When the softop is down, the boot is ON about 95% of the time.

Off, too much of a pain in the butt to put it on everytime. My car is also my daily driver and I don't even carry the boot in the car anymore. Need the room in the trunk for other things.

Just my .02

Mine isn't a daily driver, mine only makes it out on nice days. I just don't like messing around with the boot

Boot is a PITA and for me, form follows function.

So the cover lives in the basement, and never ever sees the light of day.

I use mine 80% of the time. My car rarely sees rain, sleeps in a carport and at work I use an interior cover.

I absolutely agree that the boot is a royal PITA but use it almost all the time.

Keep in mind my car is almost never top up (I use a cockpit cover at work and even at home in the garage). But...

In my experience owning other convertibles the elements (wind, dirt, etc.) are really harsh on the undersides of convertible tops. Tops aint cheap and I'd rather put off spending a couple gr on a new top a few more years if possible.

Before the recall on the boot mine went on 3 or 4 times. The new boot is still in the plastic it came in.
