Brake parts cleaner OKAY to use on greasy wires?

Default Brake parts cleaner OKAY to use on greasy wires?
I took off my passager side headlight to fix the fender and noticed how greasy and grimy the headlight wires were. I was thinking would it be safe to use brake cleaner to clean the wires.

No. The cleaner will attack the plastic insulation, use Simple Green instead.
