Are they trying to hustle me???

I am an original owner of a 2007 s2k and just replaced my front brakes diy at 65k miles. There was a high pitch squealing noise which indicated something was amiss. I do most my own maintenance on her. I was initially concerned since I read something about the bearings failing at some point on our cars. Watched some youtube videos, took her apart, and low and behold the pads were worn down to the warning indicator. When that happens, the metal indicator contacts the brake rotor, making that horrible metal on metal sound. Fyi I do spirited driving only, have not tracked or autocrossed the car. I was tired of the brake dust so I went with HPS hawk street pads and new OEM honda rotor. Those pads are supposed to throw less dust but will see after I finally wash her and see how long it takes for the wheels to get dirty.

The HPS is a little better on dust. Stoptech is a lot better though for a spirited street pad in terms of dust. Hawk just has the worst dust out there really.

Correct on the indicators. Those are pretty much the standard way on most production cars. They make an annoying noise, prompting people to check their pads. Well other than BMW's design which is totally stupid to be quite honest ... but that is another story lol

The HPS is dusty? That would be surprising...its just a ceramic pad, right?

The Stoptech 309 is the ultimate "good at most stuff" pad, honestly.

The 308 is similar to stock AP2 pads. In which case...just buy factory AP2 pads...idk.

Don’t know if they are less dusty than oem yet. (Hawk HPS HP street pads)

Just washed her and will see how long it takes for wheels to get filthy.

I’d have to say, she still looks damn good after 15years
