Break lose upon VTEC?
#11
I can go sideways with vtec in 1st gear during the heat of the summer
fun isn't it!
it's most likely your tires though. As mine go bald I begin to go REALLY sideways ahah
lately the new dunlop direzza's have been really popular. They have been compared to the re01r's and azenis. Check them out

if your tires look okay, and road conditions are decent (ie road isn't cold in winter) ... check the tire pressure and alignment
I only found my car breaking losing when the road's cold

Also make sure you really look at the inside part of the tire from the rear. With camber, you can wear out the inner edge while the outer looks "fine."
If money is tight, consider getting a longer-wearing tire.

It's tires. It's 20-30 far. where I live right now. I ocassionally get the car out when it's sunny and no salt. It's pretty fun makes you feel like the car has some power when it starts kickin sideways at 4k WOT lol.

1. Make sure road is dry and air is > 45 degrees F - $ free
2. Check tire pressure - $ 0.75
3. Alignment - $70 to $90
Replace tires when the tread depth is low, but this is not the problem if the road is dry. Also, RE050 is a relatively longer wearing tire.

if you are new to your s2000, they do that, the weight is centered so that when you are mid turn and you goose it the rear begins to spin out...just give it gas gradually when in a turn and then power out just as your rear is through the apex. sure balding tires will do it too and wet weather and cold, but power applied at the wrong time will spin...
