Flashpro is definitely the best tuning option, so if you are willing to go for an 06+ you will be in very good shape when it comes time to custom tune the car. Also, you can get huge mid-range torque gains with just a testpipe/high-flow cat + Flashpro tune. It completely changes the powerband of the car and makes it much more liveable day-to-day.

4. If I cannot afford the 2003 (I doubt I can get financed for what I want at 60 months or 72, I might just have to go for a newer one like an 08 and fiance for 72 months).

Try https://www.penfed.org/

This credit union will typically finance any age car as long as it has under 125,000 miles. At least that was their policy when I bough an 88 911 a few years ago. They offer extremely low rates too but you need very good credit. I believe it is $10 to join.

Forgot to mention I have an intake and flashpro tune on my si that made a pretty decent difference.

How do these two cars compete with each other? And does the s2000 support flashpro?

I was looking at a 2002 ap1
2006-2009 are the only models that support flashpro. k20 is way more responsive to modifications(bolt ons) than the f20 since the f20 is pretty maxed out from the factory.
This.
