Yes it sounds like air is rushing through the dash, not through the vents. I am going to the Honda dealership, and gonna drive another S2000 to see if it does the same thing. Iv'e heard people say that the cabin is noisy but I didn't think it would be this bad. I would be nice if I knew somebody local that owned an S that could tell me if this noise is normal. One more question for you guys, and than I will leave you alone: when your driving about 35-40 mph with the top up(not hard top) and windows up, do you hear any wind sounds coming from vents or windsheild, To be more specific it almost sounds like its coming from the defrost vents on top of the dash!
Thanks for all of your help with this weird problem!!

That definetely could be the case here, I don't know if there is a way of checking if the windshield was replaced or not, but if so how can I stop this problem? I looked at the carfax, and it was clear of any accidents, but I did look closely at the car and the front right quarter panel looks like it has been re-sprayed, and the S2000 emblem looks like it was carelessly put back on. Anyway, Is this something that can be fixed?

I am not near my car right now, but the OEM windshield will say "HONDA" on there somewhere near the edges. If you look at your windshield and you don't see "HONDA" on it, then it is probably a replacement windshield.

Any updates from your dealer?

Just looked at my windshield and there is a "HONDA" on the lower left corner of the OEM windshield (looking out from inside the car). So if you windshield has that HONDA marking on it, then it is original.

i purchased mine used from a dealer and part of the deal was that they would replace the very cracked windshield. they chose to send it out to a local glass shop.

my new windshield does not have the HONDA logo on it, but i had some minor problems w/ the new one and had to go back to have the glass shop fix a couple things (mirror mounted wrong, excess goop around the glass, etc.). if they did replace the windshield, find out from the previous owner/dealer where they had the windshield work done. the glass shop should make things right if it was recently done.

GregC21, any update on this? Wind noise seems to be a hot topic this week, judging from the posts.

Yes I did come to a conclusion. That car had been involved in an accident. I found this out after I bought it But I got my money back and my previous car as well. I now own a 2001 Silverstone w/black interior. Anyway, the windshield on the other one must have been a replacement, which is why it was so loud inside. Must not have been sealed correctly! But I'm happy with my new S2000.

Congratulations. I'm glad everything worked out fine for you, and that the bad experience with one badly-repaired S2000 didn't sour your view of the car.
