Car cover questions

Maybe it's dust, I used to have a black 300ZX and it looks dirty when I take the cover out (even there was no dust on the car before I put it on).
By the way, I have a brand new S2000 Cover from Honda that's still sealed in the box, I guess I don't need it anymore, anyone interested?

Wanabe,
I use Finish First also, and haven't had any problem. Although mine is red, and you may have a point regarding the black paint.
Any possibility that you might have some Porsche Top Shampoo residue left in your cover after washing? That combined with high humidity and/or salt air might cause the film you describe.
Might want to try another wash with plain water. (Or perhaps Porsche makes a Top Cream Rinse to go with the shampoo?)

I use the same cover (Honda's) and park my s2k in the garage. It keeps the dryer dust etc from accumulating on the car. I too find that it leave a strange film on the car, especially noticable on the windows. I have washed it once to reduce the amount of lint the cover leaves on the car. Otherwise, I am very happy with the fit of the cover.
I am using Zaino products on my s2k. Could that be the source of the film?
