Unhappy Check Engine Light On

My CEL light came on today, stopped by the dealer and I have a misfire on Cylinder 1. They said I might need to take the head off and sent it to the shop. Cost? Around $2000.

Should I get a second opinion guys? Anyone else had this problem? HELP!!!

Cylinder 1 misfire could be anything from bad fuel, bad spark, coil, valve lash. Maybe there were other codes? Did the dealer explain why cylinder 1 is misfiring? To have them just quote you $2,000 seems odd. I would get a second opinion if it were me. Good luck.

If it's a random misfire (what's the actual code?), there are several steps involved in the diagnosis and not one of them includes taking the head off.
