I drove an RSX type S before I bought the s2k....it was really nice, but it kinda felt like a sideways move from the civic rather than upward, if you know what I mean.

I've owned 2 EG's and 3 EK's before the S. I would say the Civic's are no where comparable to the S, but I'm looking at getting another EK for a DD. They are a lot cheaper to mod, and I love how much fun they can be.

Do you really even need to ask this question? The two cars aren't even similar. The S2000 is pure fun and sports, whereas the Civic is just a basic commuter car that you've installed hard suspension on.

(not hating on Civics, it's just the truth...)

If you can't afford insurance, maintenance, premium gas, synthetic oil, and especially a new set of tires every year then I would suggest sticking with a civic. If you can, get an s2000 as soon as possible because you're missing out. I've owned 2 civics and still have one of them (97 ek hatch). It has been the cheapest car I've ever owned. I've owned my s2000 for 2 years and it has cost me more than the civic is worth in tires alone, but it's well worth it.

Agree whole heartedly. If you're ready for all that comes with an s2000, its worth it, its a special car that is unlike any other...

One set of tires per year if your s2000 is a DD keep that in mind.

totally different cars...one tries to be sporty and fails but is a great economy car while the other is a sports car that can be an economy car if you want it to. so for s2k it's a win win situation.

I had a 94 ex coupe. It was great for me at the time. Parts were super cheap, maintance was very low, and "performance" parts were easy to come by. I felt like I had a sports car. At my income level, it was the best thing I could have had. I wanted more (as everyone does) but had to live within my means. Then in 2007, a new job significantly boosted my income. I could get a better car and there was only one option (as I still did not have the income for a NSX). I save up a sizeable down payment and went AP1 shopping. I miss my Civic but my feelings about it being a sports car will never return.
