Civic to S2K
Went from a
2004 Subaru STi with GT3076 (405whp) to a
1999 Chevy Camaro Z28 with a T67 rear mounted turbo, baby heads and a big cam and ls6 intake (560whp/595wtq) to a
1999 Honda Civic Si with LS/V forged pistons/rods, ebay turbo, long horn mani, ctr cams, blah blah blah ... basically everything but sleeves and a fully built head. to a
2003 Honda S2000 - currently has full exhaust, CAI, AEM EMS tune, springs, rims
Out of all those cars I love the S2000 the most and it's not even turbo yet (I am addicted to boost). I just bought the turbo and manifold to start the build lol
Its truely the best of all worlds.
RWD (like the Camaro)
Decent gas mileage (like the Civic)
Handles like a dream (like the STi)

I still have an EG civic.
The S2000 is no comparison to an EG/EK civic, not even a Civic Si is close.
I love my S2000 but there are definitely things about my civic that I love which is why I kept it.
My civic is a 4 door. Here are the pros to keeping a civic if you get an S2000:
1. my EG gets 40 mpg! With gas cost $3.50 - $4.00 nationally and no sign of it going down much anytime soon...you would be foolish to cell an EG or EK civic for the little it's worth. I've paid for my civic 4 times over in fuel savings!
2. I can fit myself in 4 passengers in the civic if need be.
3. The insurance and repair costs on an EG/EK civic are ridiculously cheap!

Family history:
1994 Acura Integra - automatic coupe. My oldest daughter's DD and she loves it. Have had it for almost 10 years and it's a great car.
+ VTEC, Styling, Handling
- no convertible (not even sunroof), automatic.
1998 Civic EX 5-speed. Initially bought as middle daughter's car.
+ Styling, Handling, 40mpg highway; with the moonroof open and windows down it is almost as good as a convertible
+ Handed down to youngest daughter, one of her favorite cars
+ Sold to a friend and now his favorite DD
+ Actually made money on this car (long story with several insurance claims and repairs).
- no VTEC
2001 S2000
+ Replaced daughter's 1998 Civic (with a disastrous tour through a POS VW)
+ Used as DD in Dallas but now moved to Minnesota (beater Ford Escort winter DD, the S2k is now a summer car)
+ This car convinced me to buy my MY07 S2k
+ 10 years old and still a helluva great car
- Plastic rear window, cracked, replaced by insurance, but still plastic
2007 S2000 (mine mine mine mine)
+ A lot more fun and incredibly better quality than my previous vintage Corvette
- Nothing that I've found yet
2008 Civic (wife's car)
+ Reliable, economical, convenient size
- I prefer the styling of the 1998 Civic
- Gas mileage good, but not as good as the 1998
2003 Odyssey
+ Reliable utility vehicle
- Nothing - for what it is (personally preferred to truck or SUV)

well, are you true honda boy?
even after 4+ year of owning and racing the S2000 I still want to get a civic down the line as a project car.
the new civic doesn't tickle me any where near as old CRX, EF, EG or EK, I would love to do a boosted single cam or K20a swap on one.
a clean CRX body cost nearly as much as early AP1 in socal, and most of the eg and ek been molested by riceboy for years.
a stock s2000 is not fast in staight line, hell my old single cam on low boost can walks one without much effort, but what really does it for me is the layout of the chassis(esp on the right track).
but do aware modding a s2000 cost more than a civic, but on the flip side you are dealing with less thieves bullshit.
