The first Civic we bought was a '98 EX(5 spd) for my daughter. It was a quality car, a lot of fun to drive, and with the windows and sunroof open, it was almost as good as a convertible. Long story short: she handed it down to her younger sister and, after a disastrous bout with a VW we bought a MY01 S2k for her. We've never looked back. I now have an S2k as well and it's more fun and a whole lot better quality than the early roadsters (MG, Corvette) that I had. We sold the Civic to a family friend, he's loving it for its economy, reliability, and fun; but we still have both S2ks and wouldn't go back. (My wife drives a MY08 Civic and it's just fine for her - reliable, economic, and no hassle. She doesn't want "fun" in a car.)

EDIT: the early Civics were a lot more fun/sporty than the current ones. The current crop are more like "mini-sedans".

I used to own a 2008 FA5. I installed everything I could short of going forced induction. All bolt-ons plus Hondata.

Found an old thread with my car: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/suspension-...t-hfp-pics.html

I do miss my Civic for the sake of convenience but I love my AP2.

I have an 8th gen now and every day I drive it I get more and more depressed. If everything goes to plan I'll be in an AP2 next week!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the paint job?

I did all the work myself. Spraying 2qts base 1qt pearl midcoat and nearly a gallon of clear, I spent about $700.

i went from a 98EX to a 06 s2k.

like, the cars aren't even in the same universe. the civic was a gutless fwd econobox. reliable, and great on gas, but pretty uninspiring to drive. i had it decently modified suspension-wise, but the s2000 blows it away in every way possible (except gas mileage) in bone stock form.

I went from an EP3 to a Z33 to a CT9A to an AP2, but from what I remember, the S2000 is definitely a much stiffer ride than a Civic. The Civic is nimble and quick but still comes short of an AP2 any day~ except cargo room.

Went from a 07 Si to an AP1, I missed alot of the size of the civic, as well as its DD ability. Went to an AP2 and got some of the DD ability back but overall the S is much more fun... and sexy
