Default Clearing Headlights Tips?

I will be clearing the headlights this weekend. I have read S2K0's thread on this. Any last minute tips or suggestions? Thanks!

regards,
Michael

Plan to take extra time on this project. Lots of extra time. Are you using a heat gun or an oven? Be sure you have amber replacement bulbs BEFORE you start the project. Also, the silicone you choose to use is important.

I will be using the oven. I do have some heat resistant silicon that is used for fireplace venting that I was planning to use. Will that do? Are the amber bulbs available at any auto parts store? Thanks!

Michael

M3KVB used bulbs from both autozone and autobulbdepot. See his thread here.

The heatgun was near useless for me. I ended up only using it to keep the glue warm once the pieces were apart. The oven method works best IMO.

I used GE Outdoor Silicone II. They guarantee no shrinkage.

Be sure you have all day. It will take ALL day.
