Clutch issue...
Hello kiddies,
has anyone ever experieced their clutch pedal getting soft and stiffer as they drive? When I picked up my car after having the clutch replaced, the pedal felt as if there was nothing there andit felt that way for a few days.
After a few days of driving the car, the pedal started to get stiffer as I drove. now when I get in the car, the pedal is soft and gets stiffer after a few miles when the car gets warmed up(clutch ahs around 2k miles on it now).
Now just today, I have been driving for about 2 hours and the clutch pedal was stiff ealier, but as I drove through one town, the pedal felt like it did when I first picked up the car after the clutch was replaced.
Could it be the slave cylinder is going out?

the mechanic said he did bleed it, but he used a suction bleeder that pulls the fluid through instead of pumping the pedal. I guess I will have to do the old way of bleeding it.
sorry to bring this one back..but was there ever a resolution to this? Im having the exact same problem...I have bled the fluid a few times...greased the clutch fork..it feels great after I first do it but as I drive after day 3 of doing it the clutch pedal starts soft but the further I drive and the more I push the clutch the stiffer it gets...plus if I take it into vtec or get on it high in the rpms and push the clutch in its soft and normal..so the pressure varies...
Yes, the issue is that the throw out bearing needs to be greased, not just the fork which you can see by taking out the slave. In my case, I had to actually change the TO bearing altogether. It happened when I did the 054 clutch TSB, the garage that put it all back together did not grease anything. We tried all sorts of things until we hit jack pot by changing out the old TO and greasing in the new. Never gave trouble since. Nothing is wrong with the slave, master, bleeding etc. especially if you already did all these and it comes back.

Ok.. 3 hours later, its 10:41pm and i just pulled out the clutch.. the disc and pressure plate look 100%!!! the issue is where the throw out bearing slides over the input shaft of the transmission. Since i never put grease on that spot it rubs and grabs along that shaft pretty badly.
I'm assuming that when the parts heated up it would have gotten worse and grabbed more.
I plan to clean the parts, lightly rub it down and GREASE up everything!!! lol
Ill try to get pics up tomorrow.
Thanks all.. hopefully this will fix my problem!!

huh...well..I havent replaced master cylinder or slave cylinder..the weird thing is my clutch is original so it hasnt been a scenario where its been reinstalled and not greased right..Ive noticed my mastercylinder looks like wet grease around it under the dash..thinking that could be it..but other than that yeah I guess to bearing would be next..
