Default Cold air intake or stock

Thinking of buying the KandN typhoon or any cold air intake. are they worth it preformance wise or just change the filter and forget about it.

27k miles so gonna change the air filter. Just don't wanna pay a couple hundred bucks unless its for real. Cold air intakes can get pricey. Also I don't want any added intake noise so probably just a KandN inside the stock air box. unless there is something special out there?

I have an AEM V2 and there's very little difference in performance vs stock. However, the SOUND is awesome! Of course, as you stated, you don't want any additional intake noise...I can't understand why though

i've heard a couple s2k's with intakes, and honestly, they sounded like a gsr/type r. or is it the type of intake?

Sound and blind are the most youll get besides 1-2 ponys up top and i have yet to find a legitimate dyno proving otherwise.... i find stock to be a sure bet all around, no hydro lock worries ( thats a big one livin in fla with daily torrential rain), filtration and airflow are all nice. But after market intakes do sound cool, but id never trust a AEM in florida even with bypass valve.

ya ... that's most likely what it is.

Anyway, intakes on the S is mostly for sound, throttle response, and bling. Power gain is minimal (at least on a relatively stock car).

I am curious of the sound of it now. Although i did get caught in a florida torrential downpour yesterday, found i was floating for few moments! Any intake pickup mounted low would have been trouble. May give one a try anyway. suggestions on what model CAI best?
