STock them for our cars? ive never seen Injen or AEM stuff stocked anywhere around here (south alabama) but when i go to NOPI nationals in ATlanta in september, im buying all the stuff then... they "stock" it there. The vendors come out and have all their crap there.

I would vote for stock. The OEM paper one filters the air the best. K&N filters let alot of more dirt in...not good for the long term health of you engine.

V2 dynos the highest of intakes. If I had to choose again I'd go with V2 but it isn't worth switching since I already have an intake.

Just did an K & N FIPK this weekend. Results are as follows, but first some pointers:
First, please arm yourself with the proper tools... ie 10mm wrench, socket extention, 10mm socket driver, flat head and phillpis head screwdrivers etc. (The complete list is on the install guide, but I didn't find the 13mm socket they called out any use to me).

Second, allow for some knuckle busting as some hoses are secured VERY WELL, and by VERY WELL I mean they might as well weld that stuff on, so pull hard...

Third, take your time on install. This is the second K&N kit i have put on myself (first was to a '93 Prelude) and this one took about 2.5 Hrs because I tripple checked all once I was done for fitting.

Fourth, let 'er rip. Keep in mind you will need your radio code as the directions call for a neg batt disconnect.

RESULTS: Throttle response down low is negligible. Mid range however seems to be a bit better. The dreaded "heat bog" I hear so much about isn't that bad nor noticible over the stock. Trust me I live in Orlando. Sound is about the best improvement and when you hit VTEC, it really gets going. I have also noticed an increase in gas mileage, as I drive a lot for my job. Whereas i used to get 278-285 miles per tank (HWY), i have hit the 295+ (HWY) with several bars still showing. Performance with the AC on seems to be better for some reason, but I think it's all in my head, because let's be honest, that's really what it boils down to.

In closing I think the thing I like best is that for $285+ I am not not stock, feel better about wrenching on my car and you cannot argue that sound + visual speed = scary fast little cars we have....

I'd go for it... Also, just an FYI... I drilled about two dozen holes in the AC chamber plastic just in front of the radiator and removed the AC service cover plate (located just uner the hood release) to increase the cold air flow that one can only guess might make it into the filter box. Next is a Spoon snorkel modified to fit the K&N box for further flow and who knows... maybe new springs and rotors...

nice write up! that helps me especially since i have a 2005 also. I'm going with the V2 though. I just love it, i have experience with it, and i trust AEM. I'm buying it @ nopi so it will be cheaper (no shipping) and i can actually see the item b4 i buy it.
