Cold air intake or stock
If you do a search, you will find a lot of people that just modify the stock airbox and look nice. I've been looking into CAI as well, but after seeing what these people did, they said you still get the sound from an aftermarket CAI and you SAVE A LOT of money. It just hasn't been dyno proven yet, so the gains are unknown. But in comparison to what people are saying on here, 1-2 hp is pretty much the same as no gain at all.
The modification also uses that hole in the engine bay behind the right headlight... so technically it is a CAI, it's just that the filter isn't located out there, it just draws air from there.

I bought the K&N FIPK through Crutchfield about a year ago, and have loved it ever since. VTEC is really amazing, sounds much more intense.
The FIPK sits up near where the stock box fits, and the filter is encased from the bottom and sides by the K&N housing that comes with the kit, so I've never had an issue with hydrolocking, even with So. Fla weather.
Honestly, it's a great mod. K&N has this dynojet chart (CLICK HERE!) showing their FIPK making a 9.5HP gain on an AP1.

hmmm, im thinking about getting the V2... but im worried about hydrolock... i dont know, AEM guarantees that it is hydrolock proof... they stuck it in a bucket of water and it didnt suck up any water... ill get the hydro filter for it anyways... just to be a little safer... idk...
i had a V2 on my eclipse and loved it...

Any intake is going to give you noise. the stock intake is relatively silent because its enclosed in a box. take the lid off and you can get an idea of how loud an intake is going to be. If you don't want the noise, just go with a replacement filter such as K&N. Won't really give a performance boost, but its cleanable and reusable so it will last a looong time unlike stock paper filter.
idk, thats just what i've heard...
so a cat back exhaust dosent void it? what about a CAI?
what DOES void it?
i ahve the extended warranty, non power train to 48 k (im at 20) and the power train goes to 100000
