Questions it raised back then have been answered (how many were built, etc) and I do wonder how people who posted back then would post today. I wonder how many who had the car 12 years ago still have the same car. I wonder what percentage of owners from 2001 still have the same car. (the percentage question actually interests me more) There is no way to accurately answer those questions, but it doesn't stop me from wondering.

I also wonder what prompted the archaeological dig.
I was wondering who was going to comment on the 12 year old thread. Of all the ones dug up, this is the most interesting. Might have just been from a search with a casual disregard for the date. I think this is the time I am in total agreement with Ms Murphy.

How many people came late to the party looking at collector potential vs a really great fun car (like me) and try to do both: drive it and enjoy the heck out of it but at the same time leave it stock and baby it mechanically? (like me).

How about we pick the car and say it's an S2000. I know. Crazy concept, but even the OP (who hasn't logged on in a long time) was talking about S2000s.

I'll be sure to alert the media, Mr. Miller. Your lapse in good judgement will probably be forgiven.

Seeing as how when this thread was created most people believed the s2000 would only be a 1 or 2 ear model run, Buying it as a collector car made sense.

Well seeing that its so easy to make a complete wreck of the s2000 you may be on to something. When I was shopping for an ap1 in southern CA most of the cars I looked at were beat up. Sure they could have been fixed but now finding that youtube link everyone should take good care of what you have.

Be safe.
