Compact active sub under seat
(Hopefully posted in the right place this time - sorry)...
Just thought that some info on this might be of interest: -
I found a compact active sub made by Clarion, that is only 65mm high and disappears easily under the front passenger seat.
I hooked it up to my redundant (being an 05 car) rear speaker connector from the stock system, and the accessory supply at the internal fuse box. All managed ok without needing to cut into any factory wiring.
For me, I find it improves the lightweight stock set-up quite well by just being being able to wind the head unit's bass eq right back, allowing all the original door speakers to usefully deliver some more top-end volume (particularly with the hood down). Then just fill in with the sub's own gain control.
It has a wired remote, so is easy to optimise sat in the car. With this set-up you can also tape the controls at their best setting, stash the remote away under the seat with the sub and still be able to mod the sub's level any time using the head unit's fader.
For UK, I sourced from these people (very good service). Also some product info:

To slide the seat forward it needs sliding out - though personally I only ever find a need to shift the passenger seat backrest so no problem.
Hardly the last word in precision high fidelity (how could it ever be with the stock stuff!), but well worth a look for anyone wanting to keep their car original.
Hope you find this some use.
PS - Thanks for forum info on locating the speaker and accessory connections - that saved a lot of effort!

Interesting. Unfortunately, the model they sell over here in the colonies is the SRV303. It is a little larger. Our model is 330 x 230 x 72.5. The SRV313 is only 310 x 210 x 65. Do you think it would fit from your experience?
