[B]Justin, rumor has it that Comptech tried several variations of exactly what you're talking about and didn't like the results.

I got that whistle sound checked . They told me that it is a heavy
flow fuel pump and that it was normal . Mine usually starts making
noise when I drive it in the city alot and also when the weathers
really hot 90+.

Gosh, i've had my SC on my S2000 for almost 6000 miles and i haven't had a SINGLE PROBLEM. Besides my desire for this Intercooler to reduce heat soak, and the MAP & IAT sensor voltage limiters, there is nothing I regret about the Comptech SC.

Good stuff from great people.

This is why I find much of the Turbo/SC discussion pointless. People in Florida can't seem to understand why someone would install a SC over a Turbo. The fact that the Turbo option would be illegal does not seem to register. Oh, and it's not like you can disguise it or remove it for a smog check!
I would assume that you're referring to me here. I have no trouble understanding that everyone has their own opinion and preference. What I have trouble understanding is that people would spend $5K on something that doesn't, in my mind, equate to very much 'bang for your buck' performance. I understand about CARB approval. Where I live in Florida, we have only been without emissions testing since 1999 I believe. I had to deal with emissions prior to that as well, I just always found a way to pass or circumvent. I also find it difficult to comprehend that people seem to embrace the Comptech SC and knock the turbo for it's lack of bolt-on nature. To my knowledge the Comptech unit has had numerous problems, problems that I consider to be caused (at least partially) by poor design on Comptech's part. When I told my mechanic about the broken brackets, he knew instantly what the problem was. I'm just a little surprised at the hippocracy I guess. I'm sure that alot of the people that purchased the SC expected there to be some initial issues but probably didn't count on poor design on the part of Comptech. It says alot about Comptech that they are handling all of the issues, that shows great customer service and I'm sure they'll keep their customers happy.

Well its good to hear that others have the same whistle from there fuel pump and that apparently its normal. Interesting though that not everyone experiences it. My fuel line also has a clear plastic sheathing though I understand that the lines currently being shipped are different than ours in some way. I believe its an attempt to reduce or elliminate the fuel odor problem some were having.

Hi Davepk,

Yes, they are using different fuel lines now. It did not fix my fuel smell problem, but apparently it fixed SCS2K's fuel smell problem.

I am sure Shad would send you a new one.

Good Luck.

Rogman,

I didn't realize you were having still so many problems. I've never had the bracket problem and in speaking with Shad, only 2 or 3 cars have and they can't figure out why. He did tell me a new bracket was in the works and that all would get the upgrade. He also said that they were working on their own version of a "ghostbooster" as well. That doesn't help you with your mechanic expenses though.

The fuel smell on my car is now gone. I was sent one all black fuel line which did nothing at all. I then met with Shad at NSXPO in October and he said they had sent out yet another line. I noticed that once I stopped using the air conditioning so frequently that the smell diminished and now with the 3rd fuel line, it is completely gone.

Seeing your experiences I'd have to agree with you. Maybe a little more R&D on their part would have benefitted us all. Sorry if I came off a little harsh earlier. My apologies.
