Default Comptech supercharger

I"m thinking about putting one on my S. I've heard a bunch of different views on what it does to your warranty. Does it void it or do all comptech parts keep the car under warranty. Also, what have been people's experiences with it? How long have they had it on and have they had any problems with it? Is it still possible to keep the car as an everyday driver? ANy advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It works fine. Unless it's installed by a dealer willing to warranty it then yes it will almost definitely void the warranty on the engine, and likely on the rest of the drivetrain as well. The warranty on the radio will probably be left intact though.

There have been many, many examples of daily driven S/Cd cars reported here. I have one myself (Vortech). The cases involving problems are usually those that have been "tweaked" for more power than what it came as out of the box. Also, broken cars can be attributed to those owners driving the bag off it all the time. I'm going to guess that those cars may have broken anyway but the S/C would certainly accelerate the issue (no pun intended). If driven daily with the occasional "Happy Hour", a S/Cd S can have a reasonably long life. As Strike has indicated, Comptechs that are installed by "authorized" dealers will maintain your warranty. Whether this warranty is the original Honda one or if it is some agreement between Comptech and the dealer is unknown to me. As long as the customer is covered, it should make no difference. Vortech has no such arrangement.

ps. Moving to S2000 Talk.

I spoke to an Acura dealer here in Charlotte, and yes, they do honor the warranty, even for a Honda but only if they do the installation. They told me that are an authorized Comptech dealer.

They have a list of dealers on Comptech's website. The closest to me is an Acura dealer too.
