The conclusion to my rear end replacment, and some food for thought -
VT. Once you get the grind fixed as well you will have the perfect S2000! Then just drop in a nice new clutch and a Super Charger and hell maybe a wet shot of NO2 and you will be racing with the VIPERS and taking names!
Tox, I had his car for a few weeks around Christmas last year and I don't recall hearing anything different than mine (which I had at the same time to do direct comparison). That doesn't mean that it wasn't there then, it just means that I don't recall hearing it!

Could the extra mods on your car have been too much for the rear end?
Is this be the 1st time Honda has built a traditional differential ? I know the original S500s were front engine/rear wheel drive, but those had chain drive like a motorcyle's swingarm.

I highly doubt the miniscule amount of HP I added to the car contributed to the rear end's death. Given the way Honda overbuilds things, I doubt that would be possible with n/a bolt ons. Forced induction is a different matter altogether.
To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time Honda has built a traditional F/R car. I would think they would be able to handle it though.
