Considering the S2K as a daily driver

An S2K as a daily driver?... ALthough the choice is yours; face it guys this car was not built for that.
A two seater, harsh riding, uncomfortable convertible as your only car is potentially asking for trouble.
I personally wouldn't suggest an S2K to anybody that didnt at least have some sort of a daily driver as well..... unless of course you are a scrawny single guy with no family, no friends, living in Miami or LA and a metabolism that works double overtime.

Mike G, unless it snows a LOT where you live, you'll be fine driving all winter long with dedicated snow tires.
two seater is a given, harsh ride and uncomfortable? try riding a formula 1. Face it, its either comfort or performance as far as suspension systems are concerned. So if you want to ride in a boat drive a caddy.
The only thing that bugs me about using my S2000 as a daily driver is that the engine spins at something like 4500 RPM at 80 MPH in top gear. The sound of that can get a bit old on long trips. Other than that, it's awesome.
Thanks for all the replies!
You've got me sold. I'm getting the S2k as a daily driver for sure!
The cramped trunk space, the stiff ride, the small cabin don't concern me since I'm used to that with my NSX. I also have a SUV that I can use if I need to carry lots of people and/or groceries/luggage.
Looking forward to finding the right S2K!!!
Thanks!

You can have a family, friends, and be above-average size and still enjoy this car on a daily basis. If you have a family, you're going to have a second car- if the kids need to come along, take her car. If you're going somewhere with friends, I'd be willing to bet one of them has four seats. Yes, it takes some sacrifice... but I rather make those sacrifices than deal with driving an Accord every day.
s2k is my daily as well. i picked up an '88 civic at the same time to daily drive and i only drove it once so i rnded up selling. ill eventually buy another but it'll something more along the line of a project/race car. good luck on picking up your s!!
Since a couple of years I am a daily driver too. There is no problem at all. If someone loves to waste it S2000 as a garage queen, i wont be against, but, beliebe me: A car is a car, despite its beautiness.
Some years ago I use to have a beater and drive it daily. I had a 944 stored only for big travels or special events, then the S2000, and then the 911.
With the 911, I started to use it daily. And the same with my repurchased S2000. I got noticed that the world didn't finished and even my cars remained without selfdestroying.
Men, the only thing I feel about having been in the mood of 'garage queens and beaters system' is that I've wasted my time driving craps while having the others in the garage... for nothing.
