Is the CR worth it?
BMW CCA requires roll bars and harnesses for convertibles. The hardtop will come right off in rollover. I wouldn't count on any protection from it, but would rather be worried about injury from the hardtop as it detaches.

I had a CR and got rid of it after a month. Horrible DD and no soft top takes away all the fun

As far as the CR as a DD, as an owner (who doesn't DD it), I would agree that it really doesn't make for a good DD. However, this is for essentially the same reasons that I don't think any S2k makes a good DD: little storage, bad in snow, somewhat noisy, small interior; and the CR has a harsher ride which if you live in a area with rough roads would definitely get old fast. But, on the right roads (or on the track) with the right weather this car is a blast!
It's the last best sportscar Honda has to offer from the factory; this debate has been going on for over a year.
I had the same feelings a year ago and bought a "base" MY08
Now I wish I had the CR
Regardless which ever way you go the car is fantastic
Enjoy

I wonder if most of you guys that are crazy about the soft top also have a hardtop?
It's not really to bad taking off the hardtop. Many people have the winch system or whatever in their garage. A lady I use to work for was about 60 and just hooked it around the HT and pulled it off by herself all the time. Just hung near the ceiling lol.
Anyway once you have the HT on I hardly want to take it off lol. It makes the cabin so much more quiet. The looks just kill the soft top look, and I feel better that no one can just slash my roof.
Needless to say, I pick up my CR in a few days!
I'd have to dissagree with the comment on aftermarket being better than the OEM CR stuff. I have had lot's of aftermarket suspension and nothing yet has had the feel and solidness of OEM honda. I have yet to get the KW V3's yet and may give them a try after a while on my CR. Yet I have always wanted to go back to OEM, yet the looks of a lowerd S are so nice!
