Default Cracked Windshield

Got hit by a rock on the highway last night, thrown from the tire of the SUV in front of me.

It looks like I'll be replacing my windshield. 3 questions:

1) Is there anything in particular I should be aware of? I have never replaced a windshield.

2) Any idea what this costs? (parts/labor)

3) It is a small, but very visable crack. Can I finish the track season before replacing the windshield or should this be done now?

Thanks all for any help.

Call your insurance. A lot of times it will be free.

I had the same thing happen to me, I was quoted 260 for a new oem windshield to be installed (included installation). Ended up living with it since it repaired OK.
