Default Current "good" fluids and stuff?

I will probably change the engine oil, transmission, and differential fluids again once it gets a little warmer. I plan on using:

In the engine: Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30

In the trans: GM Syncromesh FM

In the diff: LE 607

Just wondering if these are still great fluids to put in the car or if there is any new info out there.

Also, is the factory honda oil filter still the best?

On the engine: Honda factory oil filter

Any new things I need to know about? Also I am still trying to find a better method of filling the fluid in the trans/diff. I have a hose that connects to the bottle but it has a shutoff valve that keeps turning while trying to service. Thanks.

looks good, but i think honda reccommends 10w-30.. use the OEM PCX filter and you're good to go!

Have you read the "oil journals?" LE607 is good for hot and mild weather. but I dont know if I would use it in cold and freezing climates. the GM tyranny oil works great. I would change it at 7-10k IMO

Yeah I have read them all, not in the past few months though. Never heard about the LE-607 not being good for year round.

LE 607 is a 90w gear oil. some like here like to use a 75w-90 for all seasons.

Use a 10W-30 motor oil and I personally wouldn't use LE-607 if you regularly drive in temps that dip below the 20/30's.

I've been using LE-607 through a New England winter. It's not a big deal unless you're sub-zero (I don't drive the S when it gets that cold).

Yeah, check the oil journals.

Cosworth has a 30W engine oil that they recommended to a few of us... I don't know if anyone's used it yet.

Yes, the cosworth oil looks good. I saw that torco and moutul make a primo group 4 syn oil. I been lurking at bobistheoilguy. and those guys are serious motor oil enthusiasts. they have a whole forum for german castrol. so now im a castrol guy. until the next oil change...

Engine - Motul
Tranny - OEM Honda MTF
Diff. - gonna try Red Line very soon

Brake & Clutch - Normal DOT 3, nth expensive, cuz I will flush them at least once
a year, just to keep them clean all the time...

dont use the LE607 if you live where it can get cold. it only has a pour point of about -10 degrees, however, as you get closer and closer to that pour point, this means the fluid will become less effective at protecting your diff.

also use 10w30 or 5w40 if you're looking for the honda recommended specs.

and not just ANY oil filter from honda. it must be the PCX filter.
