"With the top off, the S2000 CR will weigh approximately 2765 pounds, almost 90 pounds less than the regular S2000."

WITH THE TOP OFF?

How much does the top weigh... 35 lbs? So thats over 2800 lbs.
I just had my car corner balanced and it weighed in at 2770 with a stereo, fiberglass molded sub and a full tank of gas.

I'm gonna take a stab here to say I actually like everything I see in the S2000 CR. This is a prototype version so the bugs will be worked out. It is far from a track version car like a Porsche GT3 but I think it will sell reasonable.
...who sent you? Who do you work for?

Everyone's so defensive. There are things to like and things to dislike, but people saying crap like, "...Honda is taking a step backwards..." are out of line. There's nothing to be ashamed of. It's improved 2 seconds out of pure geometry and some softer rubber. That's an accomplishment if you ask me. For some reason, I think it's the Wing that puts everyone off and immediately filters them to the "ricer" state of mind. It's functional and improves grip in the turns with down-force fellas. It's physics at its best along with great engineering. So instead of becoming defensive because a new type of S is out that can possibly be "better" than yours, just accept it for what it is and realize it's on the same team as you are. All I'm trying to say is stop being so judgmental towards something that you've never seen or felt yet. Opinions are valid, but dissing Honda for the creation of this S is not looked upon as very omniscient.

Now saying that, I'll state my own opinions: (as if any of you guys care, but hey..what's this thread for anyway?)
-I like how the seats are not leather.
-I'm not too crazy about the interior color scheme.
-I like the fuctionality of the splitter and wing. (They don't look half bad either.)
-I like how the roof is now manual saving weight.
-I like the roll bar cover thingies.
-I like how the shifter is now even shorter
-Do all CR's come with the aluminum hard tops? If so..me like.
-I like the how suspension was upgraded, but what does that mean for the majority who change suspension anyway? The gap is pretty ugly, in my opinion.
-Wheels: stock wheels are stock wheels...I think the '05's where prettier. I'm one to change them anyway.
Can't think of anything else right now since I'm being rushed right now..I'll come back and edit later.

I have to wonder... if this was an exclusive model ONLY to Japan, would it be popular? In all honesty, I bet the majority would change their tune.

Does the J's or ASM car look better, yeah... but I bet the fit and finish on the final production CR is 100 times better! LOL

Like I said before, give me some pics of a white one that is lowered!

Honda should just give us a Mugen equppied version, like how they're going to do for the civic
