Definitive S2000 CR Thread
I think it is nothing special that you can't do in the aftermarket. I personally quite happy with what I have already and don't lust after the CR at all.
I wonder if it'll start being cool in Japan to have American CR parts like it's "cool" over here to have JDM parts.

Sigh... can you all just stop talking about the wing? This is not marketed towards you who doesn't like how the car "looks." On the other hand, the actual target audiences aren't too impressed either, cause the improvement it gets are pretty much minor, DIYable and "agressively tuned," IMHO, is an overstatement from AHM. So, me thinks it's just another "special edition" model that manufacturer trying to clear + some overstock oem hardtops and leftover NSX type R shift knobs.

There is only one great thing about the CR: The quicker steering ratio.
Anyone know if it's quicker than the AP1 ratio? If not than it's useless.
Maybe they put in an AP1 steering rack to save money LOL

I actually really like the soft top removal with added bracing under there with the color matched cover, that as a hardtop owner i wouldn't mind having and will look into integrating to my AP1. The front bumper is gross and i would much rather jsut put on an Amuse. The rear wing looks good for a rear wing not my style though. The wheels are like someone said above, there pretty good for stock wheels. And for pricing if they cost 40 grand pending no markup, and judging by the response i doubt there will be one, if that includes the hardtop its not a bad deal for an s2000 with a hardtop.
Thats my 2 cents

I disagree that S2KI members are saying we don't like it because it's a US trim only car and if this were released as a JDM trim only car we would change our opinion.
Look at all the negative response to the latest Mugen S2000 concept car released at T.A.S this year which IMO is 100% times more impressive then this hideous S2000 CR
If it's ugly it's ugly

If anyone is interested, do a search on this site regarding the Mugen SS2000. The preliminary opinion the "site" had was that it was horrible, ugly, etc.
User adoption for the SS bumper covers, hoods, hardtops, and SS wings is amazingly high for what was once thought ugly.
Maybe we judge the CR too soon.
What were the thoughts back in the '70's with the release of the Plymouth Superbird? Now look at the prices on the market for a decently maintained Superbird.
