Defrost with the top down
What exactly is the OP attempting to do? I mean, it seems fairly straightforward to me that using the front AC controls is pointless if the goal is to defrost the rear (and vice versa). Maybe I'm just not understanding what the goal is here...
i believe the OPs question is..
what happens if i turn on the REAR defrost when the top is down? will the heat generated by the rear defrost in the window have a negative effect on the soft top?
the answer is no. the heat generated in the window is far less than the heat, say, on a sunny day.

I got my answer: There is a front and back defrost option.
