interesting. Let us know if you find anything, if this were true it would certainly help put my mind at ease
Hey, I've got FI, and my engine spends time riding the rev limiter sometimes during autocrosses. Nearly 60k miles, uses no oil, sees VTEC often, lots of burnouts, donuts, autocrossing, and jackass antics, and the engine still runs like a fine Swiss watch. Does that make you feel any better?

Well it does and it doesn't.. it makes me feel better that your engine is still going strong, but it makes me a little jealous that you have no oil use! Mine is still drinking a fair bit and my car is stock and doesn't even have as high mileage as yours!

Not necessarily. I think the AP2 can take more abuse from a mechanical over-rev than an Ap1 engine. I just think there is more room for error. If you mis-shift at 9K, you're over 10K rpm...in an Ap2, it might be able to withstand it for a very brief period.

Has anybody ever blown their engine under normal (non-track or racing) circumstances while taking the car high up in the rpm's in the taller gears?

Hahahaha.

Well, there has to be some downside to having all that extra power and torque.
