I change my own oil for all my cars. I bought some ramps to put the S2K up on. They were designed specifically for low profile cars and are made by blitz. They are called rhino ramps. You can find out more about them at http://www.blitzusa.com/
Just click on automotive products and then on ramps and accessories. The ramps come in very handy.

The ramps work for the S2K as long as you haven't lowered it like cthree has.

I changed my oil on my previous Prelude and plan on making an oil change to my S2k within this month. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that the oil filter was accessible from the hood. Question, is it difficult to loosen the oil filter from the hood?

off note: I went to the dealer and asked for a filter and the guy asked what year, then he asked "Civic?" "Accord?" I told him "S2000" and he was stunned. I then told him that I thought all honda filters were universal. He said that not in the '01 Civics.

I don't know about the '01 Civics, but the filter I use on my 93 Prelude and the one I use on my 00 S2000 are the same.

I wonder what's so different about the 01 Civics???

How can you reach the oil filter and the plug. I tried to find out where the filter and the plug was located but I can't seem to find them. This is my first time trying to change my own oil and it seems complicated. If anyone has any pictures of where they are located, can you please post them??? If not, I think I am going to ask someone who has more knowledge than me with cars.

In my younger years I changed my own oil religiously; however, as I grew older, more affluent and lazier, I decided to leave it to the pros. My dealer is consciencious and does a good job, so I let them do it. I have a question. How many of you dispose of your used oil in an environmentally proper way, and not down the drain or sewer? Be honest!

I take my oil to Pep Boys for recycling. They're right down the street.
