I wear a hat specially designed to repel the aliens who scan my brain:

The long bill helps with the setting sun in the summer time, and in the winter, it keeps the noggin warm.

BTW, a teacher should know that the proper spelling is "convertible"

I'm surprised no other chick has chimed in to say that she wears a head scarf. I have a cute surfer-girl one that I love to wear. Typically I do that because it keeps all the little whispy hairs from wacking you in the eyes - plus, you don't get that hat/visor line on your forehead. Of course, down here in FL, sometimes you just need a hat or visor to keep you from squinting for the entire ride!

A bill shading your eyes from the sun above helps your vision when you're going from sun to shadow. Like when you're whipping through all those tree-lined, twisty roads. I don't always wear a hat but always lather up with the SPF 50 sunscreen.

I lived at the So Cal beaches for lots of years. I've seen the aftermath of all those beautiful, dark tans.
