Mazda has only offered the 1.8t in the Mazdaspeed Miata which was onyl made in 2004/2005. Even then it was only 170(ish) hp while the new 2.0s are 168hp.(2006 and up)

I didn't know they stopped with the mazdaspeed production. They still offer the mazdaspeed3 and the mazdaspeed6 why would they stop with the miata?

the reason I intially started the thread isn't because I don't like a miata. In their own right I'm sure they are a fine car. I owned a 1992 rx-7 and loved it until the seals went on the engine. It's just the s2000 IMO is a better car and the main complaint I think both cars recieved from owners are that the cars are a little under powered. Probably why mazda offers a 1.8T option now and who knows maybe if honda re-debuts the s2000 in 2012 it'll be a 2.2T fashioning around 350hp then I think everyone will be happy! 
And unfortunately, Honda will not make a 2.2T sports car. Especially not with that much power(unless they add a significant amount of weight).

They discontinued the Mazdaspeed6 as well - you're well behind the times. Mazda has never provided an official explanation why they pared down the MS lineup.

I owned a 2000 miata Ls for three years prior to my 05 S2k
I love the "feel" of both cars, I have driven them for my pleasure not yours, this is my Rollercoaster, I validate ME!
I don't even know you, why would I want to impress you! There is always someone around the corner who has a better looking more expensive car who can completely blow me away, In fact I enjoy watching you do it! I just hope you don't end up, off in the woods! You just got your 10k in mods worth.
Back to my originally intended point: If you could close your eyes and drive
both cars without ever seeing them, you would love them both.
