Hate to be the voice of reason, but an S2000 does look a little bit like some Miatas. In the world of the modern two seat roadster, those two look the most alike.

Some of you are way too afraid of the Miata stigma despite not owning or shopping for one. Get over it.

P.S. Away from the internet, no one gives a **** about your car. Enjoy it and remember that the rest of the world does not spend endless hours obsessing over the lines of yours or any car.

Go back and read it again, and keep in mind the context of this thread. I simply stated that while most of us are car enthusiasts and can easily recognize the differences [in appearance] between and Miata and an S2000, MOST people cannot - big surprise!

I'm well aware of the accolades that the S2000 has received over the years, AS WELL as those that the Miata has received (clearly, you're not). But what relevance does any of that have in a thread about people on the street mistaking one for the other?

Quite frankly, you've done an excellent job of portraying yourself as an ignorant fanboi in this thread.

 

I have a few buddies that give me a hard time and call it a Miata because they know what it is and they like to bust my chops a little. Most people however aren't car people, don't take notice to the small details, and could care less. You have to brush it off and know that you know the difference and that is what matters.

I started the thread and its still being discussed i guess i hit a hot topic

 

The olny good thing that came out from mazda BEFORE it was bought out by ford was the r1 and even those cars have soo many problems they cant be dd. yes i have been to auto x event and have you seen an rx8? there pretty damm good on the track as well, but they were like the biggest dissapointment., got horriable reviews and not to many people have good things to say about them. Honda as a company is on a whole other level as far as the engines and r&d that goes into there cars. I'm not some guy who just like roadsters and had a previous miata, i love hondas, which i owed about 20 of them. Its seems like most of the people who are on here have a passion for roadsters in genral so they respect miatas, but i dont and 70% of the people driving down the road dont care for miatas.
