I backed out of my garage and into the street with the parking brake on tonight (about 100 feet)...I then noticed the BRAKE light and released it. Could this do any damage? Just being paranoid I'm sure (forgot to take my meds today)

Unlikely there was any damage. If you choose to drive regularly that way it will impact performance and mileage.

I think everyone can admit to doing this at least once. Don't sweat it

I've done it at least *three* times already. The very first time was before I even drove it off the lot. In my Miata, the parking brake is on the left of the console, so I kept forgetting about releasing it. Habit, habit, habit.

I have done it twice when I have pulled over to close or open the top, clicked it once or twice so I could operate the top. Then drove on, forgeting the brake.

You just will prematurely wear your brake pads and if you did it long enough you could warp or crack your rotors from the heat.

You probably meant the parking brake was not released ALL the way down, maybe the last click was still engaged thus causing the brake light to stay on ? I've done that a few times. If the parking brake was fully engaged you would feel strong resistance when trying to drive the car. I wouldn't worry too much over it if driven such a short distance.

I hate to say it, but I used to have a Miata and i much prefer the placement of the E-brake on that car as compared to the Stook. So much easier to use, and it had a better feel. Oh well, tisk tisk.
