Driving schools in Portland, OR area?
Vee,
it's a bit of a drive from Portland, but I'm planning on going (again) to the excellent IRDC High Performance Driving School at SIR (south of Seattle). I posted info on it here:

Let me know if you have any questions.

This is a driving school that runs out of PIR. They have a variety of different options, one of which is a course using your own car. You have to take a $250 basic safety course in the skid cars first, then it's $300 for one day in your own car with an instructor riding along. I haven't done it, but it sounds interesting. I would expect a lot of tire wear and would definately want reasonably fresh tires for something like this.
Edit: The only reason I haven't done this is because I don't have a fast car yet
. So I'm not sure what the rules are at PIR about rollcages and I don't know whether s2k's are allowed. But I've never heard otherwise

My son is a professional racer and races a lot at PIR. He flew me out about six months ago and I took a driving school at Porche's open track day, BMW does the same thing. It is a real kick, just whish I had my S2000 with me, although my sons porsche 911Sc was fun. Check with any SCCA member and I am sure they could direct you to the right place
