ECU Immobilizer
Each car's keys have a coded pellet. When you insert the key into the steering column, a type of scanner reads the code and tells the ECU what the code is. If this code is recognized by the ECU, it will allow the fuel pump to work and thereby start the car. If the key is not for its corresponding car, the car is "immobilized".
Ok, well, that being said, I am buying a used ecu that is different than the one my '03 S2k came with. My car was stripped and I am buying used replacement parts.
How can I utilize this ecu with my old key?

I have a problem currently with my immobilizer playing up. Would resetting the ECU enable me to potentially remobilise my car and get it to a dealer?
Are there any risks in doing this?
The immobiliser is currently disabling the fuel pump and its towing time otherwise.
